Understanding Pro Bono Program
We recognize the challenge faced by so many families who may need surgical care for their animal friend but are unable to find the necessary funds.
The Pro Bono Program will help you, our referring veterinarian, by allowing you to gift a client a surgical procedure ($4,500 value) that will be performed at our state of the art facility.

- We don't judge or question how a Pro Bono Voucher is granted.
How SurgiPet's Pro Bono Program Works
Referrals
For every six surgical patients you refer to SurgiPet, you’ll receive a Pro Bono Voucher (up to $4,500 value) in appreciation of your partnership.
Pro Bono Gift
Simply gift the Pro Bono Voucher to a client of your choosing and refer their pet to SurgiPet for any surgical procedure performed at our surgery center.
Pro Bono Surgery
Once you refer your client, the SurgiPet Team schedules the procedure and applies the $4,500 Pro Bono Voucher toward the total cost of the surgery.

Pro Bono Program Terms and Conditions
- The program is already active! Referral numbers will be calculated based on surgical cases directly referred to SurgiPet since January 1, 2024.
- Only direct referrals that proceed with surgery at SurgiPet count toward the Pro Bono Program.
- You can inquire about the current number of referrals by email and phone.
- The Pro Bono case needs to be a new referral.
- We won’t judge the reasons for the Pro Bono referral – this is the choice of the veterinarian.
- Advanced diagnostics, such as abdominal ultrasound, CT scan, echocardiogram, and similar procedures, cannot be financed through the Pro Bono voucher. The cost will be the client’s responsibility.
- The voucher cannot be used for surgeries performed after-hours.
- Pro Bono cases are not eligible for additional discounts.
- If diagnostic testing determines that a case is not suitable for surgery, the voucher or its value cannot be transferred to another patient or refunded.
- Any amount over $4,500 will be the responsibility of the client and the financing of this will be treated as usual.
- Amounts under $4,500 are forfeited, they cannot be transferred to another case, or refunded.
- The voucher will be applied to a single surgical procedure. A second procedure, even if performed under the same anesthesia, is the owner’s responsibility and the financing of this will be treated as usual.
- SurgiPet tracks referrals by hospital, not individual veterinarians. So, cases from all the doctors within your practice are combined.
- The Pro Bono vouchers will accumulate over time. This means you can have more than one Pro Bono voucher available to your practice.
- Vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of issue. Expired vouchers cannot be redeemed..
- SurgiPet reserves the right to stop the promotion at any point but will honor referrals already booked.
- SurgiPet reserves the right to cancel or change the program annually.
