Have Questions? We’re Here to Help!
Your regular vet’s clinic handles many types of visits and may have a mobile board-certified surgeon to operate on certain days. SurgiPet is different because we are a dedicated surgery center: our entire facility, team, and protocols are focused on anesthesia and surgery every day.
At SurgiPet, you meet directly with the surgeon to discuss your pet’s condition and what to expect. During surgery, two doctors care for your pet: the surgeon who focuses only on the procedure and an anesthesia specialist who focuses only on safe, comfortable anesthesia.
Our surgery-only model allows clear flat-fee packages and post-surgery support 7 days a week. We guide you through recovery, then your regular vet continues routine care like wellness visits and vaccines once healing is complete.
Our board-certified Anesthesiologist - a specialist doctor in anesthesia and pain control - carefully manages every stage of your pet’s procedure. From pre-op evaluation and personalized anesthetic planning to real-time monitoring of vitals and breathing, their focus is complete safety and comfort.
Advanced techniques like regional nerve blocks ensure your pet remains pain-free throughout. Finally, the waking up process is carefully managed to ensure your pet recovers smoothly and comfortably, with expert oversight into recovery.
At SurgiPet, your pet’s anesthesia is managed by a board-certified veterinary anesthesiologist - a specialist doctor with years of advanced training in anesthesia and pain management. Their sole focus is to keep your pet safe, comfortable, and pain-free throughout the procedure.
We’re the only veterinary surgery center in San Diego County with this level of expertise dedicated to every case - matching the standards of a human hospital.
In general practices, anesthesia is usually managed by technicians whose training can vary. While many do a good job, they are not doctors. The skill and precision of a board-certified anesthesia specialist provides a level of care that can’t be matched.
We focus on orthopedic surgeries (such as TPLO for ACL tears, kneecap surgeries (MPL luxation repair), elbow dysplasia treatment via arthroscopy, and fracture repair (broken bone repair), as well as soft tissue procedures including gastropexy and mass removals. If you would like to ask about a specific surgery or request a quote, please contact us at info@surgipet.com or call/text 760.290.8390.
Yes—and we approach every one as the specialty-level procedure it deserves to be.
At SurgiPet, spay and neuter aren’t routine check-box surgeries. They’re full anesthetic events with real risks, so we give them the same level of planning and monitoring as our complex orthopedic cases. Your pet is cared for by two doctors: a surgeon with over 20 years of experience and an anesthesia specialist focused only on your pet’s safety and comfort.
Why does this matter for a “routine” surgery? Across large groups of pets, serious complications occur in about 1 out of every 700 spay/neuter procedures. Imagine 700 pets lined up in a row—most do perfectly well, but one may have a serious problem. We design everything we do around protecting that one pet.
This level of expertise does cost more than a typical general practice—because it’s a different standard of care. We’re happy to talk through whether SurgiPet is the right fit for your pet and your family. Call us at 760-290-8390 or email info@surgipet.com
